Gibbs High School
Gibbs High School Principal

Ms. Adkinson

Stephanie A. Adkinson, Ed.S.

Ms. Adkinson comes to Gibbs High School with a long history of excellence in educational leadership.  According to Pinellas County Schools' superintendent John Stewart, "She comes highly recommended from just about every district staff member to whom I spoke."

Our new principal worked at Pinellas Park High School for nineteen years, all but two of those as a teacher. She was an assistant principal at Morgan Fitzgerald Middle School for six years before becoming Tyrone Middle School's leader in 2003. Tyrone earned two B's and six C's during her tenure.  Her focus, based on the needs of the school, continues to be on improving the reading skills of students.  "We really, really want to continue that journey, as far as pushing that reading initiative with the kids," Adkinson said. "But certainly I will have to listen to staff and see what their thinking is, to see what some of their suggestions are."

Some students remember her from their days at Tyrone Middle School, and are thrilled to have her as their administrator once again at Gibbs!  She is described as a wonderful person with an unwavering dedication to students and staff, having continually positive and upbeat attitude, and a work ethic that is unmatchable.

Gibbs is happy, excited, and fortunate to welcome Ms. Adkinson to the G-High family!
